JAH4WW Prepared for Exciting 2016

Happy New Year! Hopefully the holiday season has treated you well and you’re as excited as we are for the opportunities ahead in 2016! After finishing handicap-accessible homes for Sgt. Colin Faust, Sgt. John Ricketts, and Sgt. 1st Class Cory Remsburg in 2015, we can’t wait to get started on our next round of home builds for some of our nation’s bravest and most deserving heroes.

In December, Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors proudly announced Navy Corpsman Thomas Henderson as the latest recipient of a handicap-accessible home. Corpsman Henderson sustained critical injuries, including the loss of his right leg, major loss of motor function in his left arm, and severe nerve damage after his unit was attacked by an IED in Afghanistan one week before his 21st birthday. JAH4WW will purchase and provide a mortgage-free home in Texas for Corpsman Henderson and remodel it to make it accessible, specifically tailored to his injuries. We are so excited to get the ball rolling on our first project for a veteran in the Lone Star State!

Meanwhile, home builds are already in progress for Marine Cpl. Kyle Moser and Cpl. Jed Morgan. We were thrilled to welcome Cpl. Moser and Cpl. Morgan into the JAH4WW family as guests of honor at the 2015 Helping Heroes Gala in Chicago. With the help of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, our donors, and money raised at the Gala, JAH4WW will be able to provide mortgage-free, handicap-accessible homes to better suit the needs of these two outstanding young men and their families this year. A new home in Illinois for Cpl. Moser and his wife, Alex, is in the works, while progress on a home is underway in Oregon for Cpl. Morgan, his wife, Anna, and their daughter.

Honoring the Morgans and Mosers at the Helping Heroes Gala was a great way to close out 2015 and we can’t think of a better way to kick off 2016 than with the Night-Ops Charity Golf Tournament! We like to have a good time at all of our events, but Night-Ops might be the most fun. Last year’s tournament featured nine holes of night golf with boot camp drills, a dunk tank, and a 300-foot Slip ‘N Slide! It’s going to be tough to top that, but this year’s event on May 20-21 in Phoenix, Ariz. is shaping up to be a party you do not want to miss. Stay tuned for more details on the 2016 Helping Heroes Night-Ops Charity Golf Tournament, as well as other news and event updates on Facebook and Twitter!

It is a privilege to be able to make such a positive difference in the lives of those who so bravely and selflessly defend our country. There are still so many more heroic men and women who have been severely injured while protecting our freedoms overseas. If you’re a military veteran seriously wounded during OEF/OIF, or know someone who is, please fill out our online application.

Thank you so much for your continued support and donations. From sponsors and donors to advocates and volunteers, your generosity, commitment, and enthusiasm for our cause is truly overwhelming. We can’t do what we do without your help and we can’t thank you enough for the help you provide.

On behalf of Jared and the entire Foundation, we wish you all a very happy and safe new year and look forward to making a difference together in 2016!

Thank you and God bless!
